TFS Setup Instructions:

With a change in product positioning the name of the TeamReview work item type has changed. This makes your
TFS setup choice a little more complicated than before. The complication will be phased out as TFS 2010
adoption occurs in the market. So, please choose your situation from the following 3 scenarios. Please note,
that the Visual Studio setup instructions above are compatible with all three TFS scenarios, even in situations
where you are working with multiple TFS, or Team Project setup.

Lastly, each work item type is available in 3 languages, English, German, and Japanese. They are noted by having the culture
abbreviation at the end of their file name.

1. You have not imported a TeamReview work item type before:
- import the "Code Item" work item type in the TeamReview download corresponding to your TFS Version.

2. You previously imported the Code Review Response work item type and you are using TFS 2005 or TFS 2008:
- continue to use the Code Review Response work item type in the 2005 or 2008 download

3. You previously imported a TeamReview work item type and are using TFS 2010:
- rename the workitem type with witadmin renamewitd to "Code Item" if needed
- import the new Code Item WIT in the 2010 download

Create Code Review Response form

The “Create Code Review Response” window has 2 new fields, Priority and Change Set. The Priority drop down is filled with the allowed values for that field in the Code Review Response WIT. The Change Set field allows you to associate your feedback with a particular change set – this creates a Change Set link in the submitted item. The Change Set field is good for when you are doing “exploratory” code reviewing, and not necessarily at the request of someone who’s defined the parameters of what you are reviewing. The new form is backwards compatible with the old Create Code Review Response WIT definition to allow for add-in adoption before all Team Projects are updated with the new WIT definition.

Previously the values used in the Create Code Review Response form were pre-filled after the first submission until that Team Project was no longer active or Visual Studio was closed. Now Team Project based values are saved and pre-filled on a per user basis for the life of that TeamReview installation. The storage location of that configuration file is the installation directory of TeamReview.

Code Review Replay Form

The “Code Review Replay” window has been updated to have a Refresh (refreshes the work item store) and a help button. Additionally the Priority above shows in the replay. Lastly an individual Code Review Response can now be selected as the item to Replay in-case it’s not associated with a separate “parent” Code Review” work item.

New TeamReview Output Window

In the output window there is a new “TeamReview” option. This option will show you the work items that you’ve created and reviewed with TeamReview. Should any TeamReview errors happen this window will display a link to a TeamReview log file and directions on how to get to the TeamReview project Contributors for help. The log file will be in the TeamReview installation directory.

Due to section "2.4.1.13 Limited support for menu and toolbar customization" of the 2010 Beta 1 Readme TeamReview does not currently work with 2010. We are hoping for a quick turn-around and understanding some of the changes coming in 2010 to have a working TeamReview in the near future
